Marae DIY - Rongomaraeroa-o-nga-hau e wha Marae (Series 11, Episode Three)

This is our home and it is represented by our marae. This area: our mountain, our stream, and our training area. And the tying together of that Māori warrior culture and the British traditions of the regiments and discipline is really important … That’s critical to us being world class. This here is a part of our mana.

A number of our young engineers helped out with several marae renovations in last year’s AIA Marae DIY series, so it’s neat to feel as though we have a small bit of a history with this wonderful, wholly Kiwi initiative. A lot of work was done as part of this renovation; our wharekai had a complete makeover.
