Six-part anthology series Ngā Puna was created to showcase Māori stories and support emerging Māori writers. Bringing together six first-time television writers, the series features 45-minute standalone episodes spanning a wide range of genres and themes — from grief at a tangi and tales of murder and revenge, to drama at a Māori radio station, a love story centred on a carver, a comedy about a marae-based tourism venture, and a historical drama exploring a biracial relationship. Helmed by executive producer Don Selwyn, the series was produced by He Taonga Films.
