Police Ten 7

Television, 2002–2023

Taking its name from police code for "a unit has arrived at the job", Police Ten 7 was a long-running TV2 series that brought reality TV elements to the crime-fighting format pioneered by BBC show Crimewatch (which spawned a New Zealand version from 1987 to 1995). Made in conjunction with the NZ Police and fronted until 2014 by retired Detective Inspector Graham Bell, Police Ten 7 profiled wanted criminals, appealed to the public for help solving crimes, and featured behind-the-scenes policing stories. It gained international fame after the "blow on the pie" clip went viral. Sergeant Rob Lemoto began presenting in 2015. The show was renamed Ten 7 Aotearoa in 2022, before concluding the following year.
