Social Distancing

Web, 2020

On 25 March 2020 New Zealand went into Level 4 lockdown, in response to community transmission of the Covid-19 virus. Most Kiwis had to remain at home. This five-part web series from editor/animator Francis Glenday chronicles that experience — from the joys of peace, quiet and family time, to the struggles of social isolation. The wider effects on Aotearoa are also shown: e.g. normally bustling motorways looking desolate, and reaction to the pandemic’s first Kiwi fatalities. The animated series debuted in April and May 2020.
