The first season of Talk Talk introduces the show's format, which mixes interviews and musical interludes. In each of the 13 episodes, journalist and former Listener editor Finlay Macdonald talks to two Kiwi creatives. At half-time, he introduces a song or musical performance. Macdonald probes everyone from actors to authors — from Madeleine Sami to Emily Perkins, from artists Dick Frizzell and Séraphine Pick to directors Vincent Ward and Florian Habicht. The aim is to ask "not so much about what they do, as what makes them tick". Some guests (e.g. Anika Moa and Moana Maniapoto) talk and sing. Check out all of season one's guests and songs in this episode guide.
