Untold Pacific History

Television, 2021

This five-part series looks back to see how Pasifika culture has been affected by the past. Delving into topics of land rights, coups, politics, tourism, slavery and the dawn raids, the series explores New Zealand’s relationship with the Pacific, and how that has fed into the country's relationship with Pasifika peoples in Aotearoa today. Untold Pacific History was named Best Pasifika Programme at the 2021 NZ Television Awards. Funded by a Radio New Zealand/NZ On Air Innovation Fund, it debuted on the RNZ and Coconet TV websites. The episodes range across Niue, Fiji, Samoa, Rarotonga and the Pacific community of South Auckland.
