 Synopsis

Aroha is the story of a young woman caught between the traditional and contemporary worlds. This NFU dramatisation depicts a Māori chief’s daughter who embraces the modernity of the Pākeha world while maintaining her place with her own people and traditions. Listen out for some musical treats in this short film including an instrumental version of classic NZ song, ‘Blue Smoke’ and a performance of the action song ‘Me He Manu Rere’.
