The presence of George Lowe on the original Aspiring expedition is rarely mentioned. He was one of the guides. He features occasionally in that film. George was Ed Hilary's climbing partner and opened up the tough Lhotse Face route, spending a week marking and roping the route to the South Col. Most of the time he was alone has his companions were ill. A remarkable feat by a remarkable man.
Not sure if he's mentioned in this film as I am having difficulty viewing it (in China).
