The Give It A Whirl Collection

The Give It A Whirl Collection

Kiwi rock music is loaded with great sounds and stories, as this collection demonstrates. The Give It A Whirl collection is built around the 2003 TV series, which explores five decades of popular music in Aotearoa. Debbie Harwood profiles Kiwi female musicians in radio show Give It A Girl (comprising 17 interviews, of around eight minutes each). Plus check out exclusive material: 12 extended interviews with musicians, recorded for Give It A Whirl, and pieces by three special guests: Whirl's co-writer Michael Higgins goes behind the scenes on the show, Hello Sailor's Harry Lyon jumps back in time, and Debbie Harwood talks female musicians. NZ On Screen thanks the NZ Lottery Grants Board and NZ On Air for their funding of this project.
