Ben Barrington

Over more than two decades on New Zealand television screens, actor Ben Barrington has played a plethora of different roles. After graduating from Toi Whakaari in 2001, Barrington won a Chapman Tripp award for his stage work, and was nominated for further gongs for acclaimed TV series Insiders Guide to Happiness, as a doctor close to breaking. In 2011, Barrington joined The Almighty Johnsons as the well-meaning but lazy god Olaf. After time as romantic interest on Aussie hit Offspring and a stint on Dancing With the Stars, Barrington joined Shortland Street for an extended run as the "playful" plastic surgeon Drew McCaskill. 

The Insiders Guide to Happiness is a production that I'm still fiercely proud of to this day ... kind of a world all its own, that show. It just had this tone to it that wasn't like anything else. Ben Barrington on The Insiders Guide to Happiness
