Christchurch-raised Eli Matthewson is a prolific stand-up comedian who frequently appears on and creates his own television shows. Since making his screen debut presenting on daily show U Live in 2013, he's been a Shortland Street actor, a comedian on Jono and Ben and Head Writer of 7 Days (to name a few). In collaboration with Chris Parker, he made series The Male Gayz, Golden Boy and Chris & Eli's Porn Revolution. Matthewson was the first Dancing With the Stars NZ contestant with a same-sex dance partner, and also competed on Celebrity Treasure Island NZ. In 2021 he won the prestigious Fred Award for comedy.
