Holly Shanahan

After channelling an Irish accent on TV comedy Welcome to Paradise, Holly Shanahan reunited with co-star Ryan O’Kane for breakout movie hit Second-Hand Wedding. Shanahan scored a Qantas Award as O’Kane’s fiancee, desperately hiding her nuptials from a thrift-obsessed mother. Inbetween guest roles on Australian TV, she went on to play a detective struggling to balance marriage and job in the Kiwi edition of Underbelly. In 2020 Shanahan launched her own acting agency, HS Management.

She is a woman operating in a man’s world at a time when women were just starting to get recognition for being more than mothers and wives. Holly Shanahan on her role in Underbelly - Land of the Long Green Cloud
