Kezia Barnett

The work of Kezia Barnett has been showcased in galleries, short films, music videos, and projected on to four-story high billboards. Since graduating from Elam Art School in 1998, Barnett has made award-winning videos for Goodshirt and Sarah Brown. She has directed commercials around the world; an ad for Herringbone shirts took out Best Commercial at a festival in Los Angeles, and contributed to her taking the Young Director of the Year award at Southern Hemisphere advertising awards The Kodak Gongs.   

I had acute appendicitis and nearly died at 27; my work pre and post this shows quite a dramatic change. Before it was bubblegum-pop musical land with larger than life characters, after it took a darker turn with schoolyard fantasies of bullies as wolves, a time traveling killer and Rouge Amour.
