Tim Worrall

Writer, Director [Ngai Tūhoe, Te Arawa]

Helping out friend Niki Caro on Whale Rider prompted Māori artist Tim Worrall to focus his energies on the screen industry. The Elam Art School graduate returned to university to study scriptwriting in Wellington, after providing feedback on the script for Caro's hit film. Since finishing his Master of Arts in 2007, Worrall has gone on to write and direct award-winning short Tits on a Bull, direct on comedy show Only in Aotearoa and write for teen series This is Piki. In 2020 he wrote and directed on prime time rugby drama Head High. Worrall has also worked on two Loading Doc documentaries: The Road to Whakarae and Kōtuku Rerenga Rua
