The Topp Twins - Do Not Adjust Your Twin-Set: The Waka

Television (Excerpts) – 1996

You need a decent vehicle Ken, a four-wheel drive or something like that. Stuck in the middle of nowhere, now...
– 'Townie' Ken Smythe (Jools Topp) berates his farmer mate Ken (Lynda Topp)
Jeez Ken, I think I'm in love, eh.
– Farmer Ken Moller (Lynda Topp) confesses his love for Camp Mother (also played by Lynda Topp)
You're driving like a man possessed!
– Ken Smythe (Jools Topp) is alarmed at his best mate's skills behind the wheel
We had characters that people could identify with. Everybody knows a Ken, or Uncle Ken, or a mum like Camp Mother and Camp Leader. People just identified with those characters. We knew the New Zealand psyche too. We had an understanding of what New Zealand was in the 80s and 90s.
– Lynda Topp in an NZ Herald interviewe, 13 December 2022
