Facelift - First Episode

Television (Full Length Episode) – 2004

Politics creates strange bedfellows, Helen.
– Don Brash (Alan Brunton) chats with Prime Minister Helen Clark
I'd give us a seven and a half, for sure, for sure...
– Tana Umaga (Cohen Holloway) rates the All Blacks' performance
..we started discussing masks as a way of doing caricatures before Dave [Gibson] suggested we investigate prosthetics. It too a year, off and on, to audition cartoonists, brief a sculptor, and trial the process.
– Facelift producer Chris Ellis in The Dominion Post (TV Week pullout), 29 June 2004, page 11
I didn't work on them too hard, but when we started the show, it was a case of getting videos out and working on them. Like I'd never done Tana [Umaga], or Rodney Hide or Parekura [Horomia]. And ... um ... they're sort of quite unusual. Specially Parekura. I found more of a caricature of him. Tana was a lot easier, 'cos he goes, "for sure, for sure" all the time.
– Facelift performer Cohen Holloway on preparing for the show, The Listener, 6 August 2004
