Heart of the Stag

Film (Excerpts) – 1984

Always aim at the heart, that way you never spoil the trophy…

– Robert Jackson (Terence Cooper) tells Bruno Lawrence's character, Peter Daley, about deer hunting

What's with that man? Oh, I’m sorry. I know he’s got something against me.

– Peter Daley (Bruno Lawrence) questions Cathy Jackson (Mary Regan) about her father's behaviour

One Saturday we came here on our horses and it started to rain — and it rained and rained. And we decided we’d have to stay in the summer house for the night. I loved it. But Dad was really worried.

– Cathy (Mary Regan) shares memories of her mother with Peter (Bruno Lawrence)

The character (Cathy) did not take the power of decisions into her own hands ... The film was done in the old romantic style of villain, victim, and hero, who comes galloping on a white charger to the rescue.
