Television (Full Length Episodes) – 2014

Episode One
It's September 2010 and a major earthquake upends the lives of Christchurch residents, including working-class couple Len (Bernard Hill) and Joycie (Rachel House), construction worker Ryan (Jarod Rawiri) and his young family, cocky property developer Greggo (Joel Tobeck) and a well-off family, the Smith-Robinsons. As aftershocks continue, Len is fired up by community spirit, while Ryan's partner Donna (Miriama McDowell) struggles to cope. 

Episode Two
On 22 February 2011 another devastating earthquake leaves Christchurch broken. Characters’ lives intersect in the chaotic aftermath. Hayley (Lucy Wyma) locates her injured brother Tim (David Sutherland), while Joycie visits her client Dotty (Kate Harcourt) before setting up a makeshift camp at home. Monee (Chelsie Preston Crayford) is reunited with her her dog and King (Kip Chapman). A shocked Donna continues her journey to the ferry and Len is stranded in Lyttleton. 

Episode Three
Len walks back to Joycie over the Bridle Path. Ginny (Luanne Gordon) confronts daughter Hayley over her whereabouts during the quake; Jonty (Stephen Lovatt) feels his life unravelling. The central city is cordoned off. King’s hold on Monee continues. Hayley has a fateful meeting and elderly Dotty is frightened by nocturnal vandals. Donna makes moves in Auckland and Greggo plays hardball with his tenants.

Episode Four 
A TV news team broadcasts Len and Joycie’s eviction story. Ginny learns the extent of her husband’s financial situation. Ryan realises he isn’t alone in his broken suburb and an incident in the Red Zone reveals mercenary Greggo’s true operations. Emma (Loren Taylor) has a reality check about former lover Jonty’s dealings, and the odious King comes for Monee again.

Episode Five
Ryan’s hospitality isn’t repaid and there’s another nasty surprise at the bank. The Ministry of Social Development puts the heat on Joycie about her relationship status. The inner city's demolition continues apace. King gets a comeuppance for his reign of domestic violence and Dwayne (Anton Tennet) proves smarter than he looks. Dotty’s vulnerability is laid bare.

Episode Six
Ginny takes a shaken Dotty home and her legacy helps the family. Monee’s surprising past is revealed and a hopeful reunion takes place. Ryan takes revenge on Greggo but spirals further into a deep depression. Joycie’s innate kindness pays off in the long run. The residents of ‘Mudville’ celebrate their defiance and solidarity with a party featuring local music collective, The Eastern.
