King Loser

King Loser once described themselves like this: "King Loser put a few holes in things, opened the sonic portal, took your children away and creased a few brows" — a line that captures the band's blend of primal psychedelic rock, crazy stage antics and sartorial style. Passionate to the point of combustibility, the quartet was originality built around sometime couple Celia Mancini (aka Celia Pavola, and Celia Patel) and guitarist Chris Heazlewood. King Loser released four albums across the 1990s. Flying Nun executive Alan Holt later described them as both one of the label's best and most difficult groups. Mancini died in September 2017.
