We were driving through Mt Maunganui one day before a show, and out of nowhere Rollyz just said out loud "damn it’s a good place to be blonde". That phrase stuck with us and the song just came naturally from there.

I see them as separate worlds with loose thematic ties — tackling political and social issues through a fun and accessible medium (comics/music), and trying to sneakily educate people without talking down to them.

To call DARTZ Aotearoa’s answer to The Chats would be immediately correct but more generally reductive, because there’s so much going on under DARTZ’s furious and fun anthems: there’s great wit, honest storytelling, and effortless ensemble work.
