The songs that are entered are judged only on their creative content. The lyrics are judged 50 percent, the music 50 percent. If it's sung out of tune, played out of time, recorded on the crappiest little ghetto blaster we don't care. As long as we can hear what the song is and what it might be, then it's judged on that basis.

When I write songs I process what I'm feeling. Sometimes things can be bit too hard to handle, and by writing songs you can vent some of that emotion out in a healthy way — rather than, you know, yelling at people or something (laughter)

Thomas has provided a backing track, and will be performing the keyboard and vocals live. It's a scary time for a composer of electronic music who has never sung in front of an audience before.
