Tom Scott cartoon - Arts All Blacks

Image – 2021

Kiwi comedy legend John Clarke created a team of Arts All Blacks because he always felt that New Zealand took (legitimate) pride in its sportspeople, but was less inclined to celebrate its non-sporting heroes. Especially for John Clarke – The Collection, NZ On Screen asked eminent cartoonist Tom Scott to create a cartoon giving his take on the subject. Bringing the team into this millennium, Scott has made some additions – with Taika Waititi, Lorde, Flight of the Conchords, and Anthony McCarten now added to the squad. Check out also Clarke's original team list, and a memorable interview with one of the selectors.
