Tom Scott cartoon - John Clarke, 1948 - 2017

Image – 2017

Tom Scott and John Clarke were good mates over many decades. Both grew up in the Manawatū. They met as university students  Clarke was at Victoria, and Scott at Massey. Colleagues told Tom he needed to meet John because they would get on. And they did  famously! They even wrote a capping magazine together. Scott later wrote the part of Wal Footrot, voiced by Clarke in hit film Footrot Flats: The Dog’s (Tail) Tale. The two stayed in contact over the years, despite being separated by the Tasman. When John Clarke passed away on 9 April 2017, Tom Scott created this moving tribute to his friend.
