I like when they mention Mangakino as I was born there on 5 May 1962 and Bill (Willie) Henry Apiata was born there in 1972. I actually met him in 2018. Very pleasant person.

As a 6 year old kid in Parnell, I loved that tinkly upbeat intro music, was impressed by Bracy's van Dyke, and watched with huge interest the Auckland around me. Rhys' mod gear, part of the Lew Pryme, Ray Columbus crowd that frequented our pub still looks very cool, very Small Faces. Crump used to frequent St Michaels School in Remuera, where I was a student. I think he had a nephew there or something. Acker Bilk anyone?

NZ - such a simple but cool little land back then before everyone felt they should get more pie!

Gawd no wonder we all went to Australia
