Christchurch property developer Dave Henderson has faced bankruptcy, accusations of fraud, and 25+ tax audits. This comedy-drama from Jonothon Cullinane (Trifecta) is inspired by Henderson's bestselling account of battling the tax department over a $924,000 bill. Qantas-nominated Erik Thomson (800 Words) plays Henderson, while a near-unrecognisable Michael Hurst cameos as MP Rodney Hide. In this excerpt, Dave's partner (Miriama Smith) unexpectedly gets the third degree when she drops into the IRD. Lumière writer Simon Sweetman praised the "superb" cast, and Thomson’s playful performance.

This is a David and Goliath story ... there are only two certain things in life: death and taxes. To see a man struggle against that machine and succeed when he's been done wrong — I think the audience will be cheering by the end of it.
– Lead actor Erik Thomson, in the press kit for We're Here to Help
