Newsreader Dougal Stevenson presents the condensed history of New Zealand television’s first 15 years - from 60s current affairs and commercials, to music shows and early attempts at drama. The first part of a two-part special, this charts the single channel days of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation from its birth in 1960 until puberty in 1975, when it was split into two separate channels. Includes recollections from many of our founding television reporters and presenters.

Any chance of part 2? This is better than TVNZ's latest attempt at celebrating the history of tv in NZ.

Seeing this now is like the complete opposite of a rose-tinted view of the past. Everything seems fuddy-duddy and naive, but refreshingly frank about how limited NZ television was back then. But there are a few sparks among it, and it's reassuring to know that it's more or less worked out ok.

Agree with Bob's comment's.
Part 2 would be great.
The first 25 years doco IMHO is better than the first 50 years doco.
Shame this doco is out of sync.
