It's 1982 — The Topp Twins are 24-years-old, living and working on a farm, and busking on Queen Street in Auckland. Long-running current affairs series Eyewitness News visits Jools and Lynda Topp at home, and joins the audience of one of their spontaneous street shows. The fresh-faced sisters discuss why they think their act has become a busking success story, even with their feminist views and lesbian lifestyle openly referenced in their lyrics. The twins went on to become one of New Zealand's most celebrated comedy and musical duos, and this heart-warming news item acts as a sweet time capsule.
