Ōtautahi Christchurch duo Dillastrate call their (mostly) te reo Māori waiata 'Kei Whati Te Marama' "easily the best song we've recorded". Keyboard player and beat master Tim Driver and drummer and vocalist Henare "H" Kaa, who first met at jazz school, wrote the drum 'n' bass-inspired track as both a 'thank you' note and a tribute to the special wāhine in their lives. The black and white music video features moments from the 2024 Waiata Anthems episode that profiles the song. An expanded band plays onstage in front of an enthusiastic crowd, capturing the anthemic feeling of the chorus, soaring synths and live beats.
H somehow plays drums like an absolute maniac and sings with the voice of an angel, and he brings the power to Dillastrate.– Tim Driver on bandmate Henare Kaa's talents, Waiata Anthems 2024
