Workmates
Film (Trailer) – 2025
In the trailer for comedy drama Workmates, Lucy (Sophie Henderson) and Tom (Matt Whelan) battle to keep their struggling theatre alive — and their friendship platonic. Shot in Auckland with many recognisable locations, the film also features Milo Cawthrone (Deathgasm) and Chris Parker (Golden Boy). Sophie Henderson wrote the script; her husband Curtis Vowell directs. They previously took the same roles on movies Fantail (which starred Henderson) and Baby Done. The story was inspired by Henderson's time working at Auckland's Basement Theatre. The film debuts at Whānau Mārama in mid 2025.
