Shane Cortese made a name for himself on London’s West End before coming home to New Zealand to begin a career in television. Since his return, Cortese has played TV roles across the spectrum of characters, including the evil Dominic Thompson in Shortland Street, and Hayden Peters in Outrageous Fortune.

The best characters in my opinion are those ones with a degree of character about them, and they have that dark side to them, and I certainly had the darkest side they'd ever had at that point on the show. He went from a reasonably sort of sane guy to psychotic in a very spread out period of time. They didn't rush it, they really developed that character.
