Robin Laing

Robin Laing began producing films in 1985 with Mr Wrong, the first of many projects she worked on with director Gaylene Preston. Her CV also includes acclaimed miniseries Bread & Roses, short films (Stroke) and documentaries (The Heart Dances, Putting Our Town on the Map). In 1993 Laing was named a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to the New Zealand film industry.

In the chaos which is filmmaking, Robin Laing provides an oasis of reason and practicality matched with a fine creative sensibility. [...] I have no idea how I’d manage without her. Gaylene Preston
