Episode One - Pania of the Reef
Hollywood has hit Aroha Bridge! A big American film is shooting in the small town, and it's based on a traditional Māori story; Pania of the Reef. The motley crew of characters respond to this cultural appropriation every which way — from protesting to monetising. Other plot points include; racist stereotypes on screen, celebrities getting "cancelled", and ditching your values for a really great free lunch.
Episode Two - Scholarships and a Drink
Education is on everyone's minds, as graduation day is coming up in Aroha Bridge. Monty (Rizván Tu’itahi) laments his lost degree in training hawks, Kowhai (Jessica Hansell) reminds anyone who'll listen she has a fashion degree, and young Tapi (Julian Dennison) prepares to squeeze cash out of the community. Also Ira (Scotty Cotter) encounters nasty attitudes to Māori scholarships at his shopkeeping course.
Episode Three - Legally M’orange
This episode is all about the legal system! After becoming obsessed with an American crime show, Kowhai (Jessica Hansell) is inspired to be a lawyer — which is great timing, because Uncle Noogy (Mātai Smith) is in hot water with the local $2 shop! He requests an all Māori trial, and with Kowhai as his lawyer, almost everyone in town takes the stand. Meanwile, Tapi (Julian Dennison) is giving out a stream of surprisingly detailed and accurate legal advice for a child.
Episode Four - Mind ya Business
Everyone's got money on their mind at Aroha Bridge! When Kowhai falls prey to a loan shark, Dad (Frankie Stevens) bails her out and wants his debt re-paid. Monty and Kowhai go to work for him and quickly discover Dad is a scammer too — his "Miscellaneous Incorporated" business is wild. Much to their shock, he somehow gets nominated for a special prize on a Consumer Watch Dog television show.
Episode Five - Marae Mysteries
The whole whanau is together for this episode, getting their hands dirty for the annual Marae DIY weekend! The twins quickly get bored of Aunty Winnie (Madeleine Sami) barking orders, and instead get busy solving a Marae Mystery — who stole Monty's jandals?! The investigation somehow turns into a taniwha slaying, and Whaea Bubbles (Rachel House) comes under fire for some seriously shady behaviour.
Episode Six - The Wall
The mysterious Kamo Kamo corporation led by a "scary lady" erects a wall around Aroha Bridge, and it wrecks havoc on the town! The whanau is politically divided, with some protesting for, and some, against the wall. Kowhai thinks it would be cool to be "woke" but learns it's much more work than she originally thought. As Kamo Kamo's behaviour becomes more corrupt, Monty loses access to his beloved hotdogs.
