A bored high schooler is drawn into a kaleidoscopic world in this video for Goodshirt track 'Buck It Up'. The visual spectacle unfolds in choreographed dances, where the imaginary swirls through the mundane. A stern teacher transforms into a burlesque temptress, a gang of bullies morph into a pack of wolves, and a team of cheerleaders don masks of the members of Goodshirt. With only her second music video, director Kezia Barnett established herself as a major new talent. Buck It Up won Best Group Video at the 2004 Juice TV Awards.
I went to art school with [Goodshirt vocalist] Rodney [Fisher]. At one school ball he was the Queen of the Ball and I was the King! The video idea was influenced by my brush with death and hospital stay earlier that year. Needless to say I was delirious and had visions. You can see the band pop up throughout the video — especially Rodney.– Director Kezia Barnett, March 2009
