Short Film (Full Length) – 2022

Excellent believable performance — I was totally absorbed in the world you had created. Beautifully shot from start to finish. An impressive consistency and excellent standard in terms of design aesthetic, style, soundtrack, lighting, and overall tone.

An assured piece of filmmaking with a terrific aesthetic.
– Judge Jennifer Ward-Lealand
Magic on screen! That was a pleasure to watch! Full props for the cinemascope look! The sound quality is among the best in this competition. It was a beautiful thing to hear! Aaron Falvey

I love the use of the doll; it creates an unsettling atmosphere, which suits the story and really heightens the twist at the end.
– Judge Angela Bloomfield
There is something quite surreal about seeing something you’ve created up on the big screen ... The behind the scenes process and being able to turn ideas into a film for people to enjoy and dissect is what I find the most enjoyable. Also quick shoutout to the rest of my team: Waimarie Carter and of course Louise Gromme, one of the very few people that can keep a straight face when acting alongside a baby doll.

When making the film, we drew inspiration from TV shows and movies such as Mr Robot, Fight Club, and Lars and the Real Girl — the psychological thrillers that make you think a little.
