Reservoir Hill - Series One

Web (Full Length Episodes) – 2009

...Reservoir Hill will fill the slither of untapped space lying between scripted drama, video gaming and reality television ... each week scriptwriters will be responding to Beth's texts and Bebo messages [from viewers] and deciding which suggestions, if any, will form the rest of the plot.
– NZ Herald writer Jacqueline Smith, 8 October 2009
For teenagers, advice from friends is a huge thing, and so is the internet as a method of communication. The online format will allow viewers to be involved with Beth as a close friend instead of someone they just watch on TV.
– Lead actor Beth Chote on the interactive aspect of Reservoir Hill, The NZ Herald, 8 October 2009
It's an amazing and quite frightening logistical effort.
– Co-creator David Stubbs on filming each episode two days before it goes online, The NZ Herald, 8 October 2009
When she vanished it was like the sun went out. It's been dark ever since.
– James (Dan Caddy), in episode four
Please leave a message ... unless you're Beth.
– Voicemail message left by Sammy (Greer Samuel), in episode six
Normally dramas are written months in advance. For Reservoir Hill we're creating storylines every week, doing three drafts in 48 hours and then shooting, editing and sound posting in 72 hours. We have to be living and breathing the story alongside the characters.
– Co-creator David Stubbs, The Dominion Post, 27 October 2009
There've been other online dramas overseas but not one, to our knowledge, that the audience gets to text the characters, and they act on the text. So we like to think it's possibly a world first in that respect. It's like a game — we've created a world for Beth, dropped her in it and let her negotiate her way through it, with the help of her mates.
– Co-creator Thomas Robins on Reservoir Hill, The Dominion Post, 27 October 2009
It's me. Your buddy. As designated.
– Monika (Michelle Ny) to Beth (Beth Chote), in the final episode
How am I supposed to make a new life for myself if everyone thinks I'm someone else?
– Beth (Beth Chote), in episode two
Beth, maybe sometimes it's best not to run — at least until you know what you're running from.
– Matt (Tim Cano), in episode three
My issue? Could it be that Petra just told me how you and Tara were a couple? ... or is it just that you're a murder suspect?
– Beth (Beth Chote), in episode five
Do you mind if I don't take time out to be catty right now? I've got a life to live.
– Petra (Abby Damen) to Beth (Beth Chote), in episode four
