Rise Up 2.0

Six60 , Music Video – 2010

from the album Six60 (2011)

In 2010, they released the song 'Rise Up 2.0'. It peaked at number one on the New Zealand Singles Chart and cemented them as an act worth paying attention to. The rest, as they say, is history.

– Journalist Sahiban Hyde on the success of Six60's 'Rise Up 2.0', Hawke's Bay Today, 8 October 2020

['Rise Up 2.0'] went to number one, on the back of an enthusiastic fan base from gigs and social media. It left outsiders scratching their heads, wondering why they have never heard of the band before. Some were equally surprised that Six60's amalgam of soul, funk, reggae, dance and drum and bass was from a band based in a city synonymous with the lo-fi indie "Dunedin Sound" . . . Their debut album in 2011 went to number one and was the fourth biggest-selling album of any kind in New Zealand that year, and the biggest selling by any New Zealand act.

– Journalist Tom Cardy on Six60's meteoric early success, The Dominion Post, 6 March 2015
