Awesome story, seen the doco here in Australia, Melbourne. John Pohe was/is a remarkable man, showed so much courage, and even became the lucky charm of the pakeha who flew with him....Although he did get caught, and unlucky I guess to have done so, his story is an inspiration to me,

John Pohe was/is a remarkable man, showed so much courage, and even became the lucky charm of the pakeha who flew with him....Although he did get caught, and unlucky I guess to have done so, his story is an inspiration to me, I am originally from Ngaruawahia and proud to be, we have many great people in our IWI as do other IWI. Very very moving documentary, well done to the crew and how this story was told.

Loved this story, grew up in whanganui, never knew this heros story until I saw it on tv. My uncle was a pilot from whanganui, lost his life in GB.
