Amber Easby

Producer

Producer Amber Easby has worked on award-winning short films, TV productions, and some high profile music videos. Her CV includes three consecutive Best Music Video winners at the NZ Music Awards: one of them, Lorde's iconic video for 'Royals', also won an MTV Video Music Award. Easby also produced award-winning short 43,000 Feet and co-directed Kusuda, a short film about a Japanese winemaker. In 2018 she joined website The Spinoff to produce web series Get It to Te Papa. These days she is The Spinoff's Head of Video  where she commissions new content, and also runs company Hex Work Productions.

Our filmmaking process very much mirrored the experience you see on film. Getting our entire crew to the Wairarapa on short notice, to then shoot in heavy rain and strong winds was challenging, but like [winemaker] Hiro, we had to give in to the weather and let it lead our process.
