Lucy Sheehan

Actor

For a period starting in the late 1980s, actor Lucy Sheehan seemed to be everywhere: throwing tomatoes at naked men in movie Zilch!, fending off a badly injured Harry Sinclair in classic short The Lounge Bar, and living in a haunted house in Timetrap. Sheehan gave early notice of her talent by appearing in almost every shot of half-hour drama A Fitting Tribute (1985), made for series About Face. She followed it with a memorable turn in Talkback, as a woman who is forced to become a radio DJ on a night shift. Now based in Australia, the NZ Drama School graduate has also done stints on stage, as a Radio NZ voice artist, and as an acting teacher.

On-screen for most of the film, Lucy Sheehan turns in a warm, convincing performance as the newly-nominated talkback host who has her own dramas to live through and her own story to tell. Listener review of Talkback, 11 June 1988
