Letter to Blanchy - A Serious Undertaking

Television (Excerpts) – 1995

Dear Blanchy, this has not been an easy letter to write. You being in hospital, you probably haven't heard the unhappy story of Ron and Ernie Parkinson.
– Barry (Jon Gadsby) writes to Blanchy, early in this excerpt
Well he was bought up in the depression...Badly wounded in the war. When he got back his wife ran off with that panel-beating fella. Then the plumbing business went through in the fifties, and uh, last year he lost his caretaking job.
– Ernie (Roy Wesney) replies to Barry (Jon Gadsby) asking if Ron had a good life
The traffic officer said 'have you seen one of these?'. And the nun replies as quick as a flash 'of course I have young man, but it better be a darn sight bigger than that'.
– Ray (Peter Rowley) relays the dirty joke that was interrupted by Ron's death
