Kiwi screen vampires garnered international attention in 2014, with mockumentary What We Do In the Shadows. From Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi and a roster of Kiwi comedic talent, the film documents the travails of a flat of vampires in modern day Wellington. We shine the Spotlight into the shadows to rouse other NZ screen vampires and bats, including 200-year-old Diego (aka Waititi) in a 2004 Living Room episode. Plus: the immortal Count Homogenized (“I vaaant your milk!”), Grampire, vampire jets, and native bats flatting in a tree. Vank you for vatching.
