Television (Excerpts) – 1978

One - The Woman (screening date 19 February 1978) 
Sixteen-year-old Charlotte enjoys a quiet evening playing piano for her father. He promises that she can go to the Duke's ball if she goes to bed early. But once she and her father head off to bed, a mysterious female figure begins to prowl the halls of the family home. 

Two - Operation Extermination (excerpt, screening date 5 March 1978) 
In this short excerpt, a man (Grant Bridger) sneaks out of the window of his home only to run into his wife Susan, who has unexpectedly returning home early. But she's on the run too.

Three - Tani Kawara (excerpt, screening date 5 March 1978) 
Tani Kawara (singer Tina Cross) brings her brother John to after school basketball practice to meet Michael Richards, a boy from Tani’s school form who is on the team. John is considering joining the team; ichael chats with Tani, inviting her to the movies the next evening.

Four - The Girl From Nowhere (screening date 12 March 1978) 
Young Janey is walking near a lake when she hears cries coming from the water, and discovers a boy trapped inside a burlap sack that has been thrown into the water. She rescues him, and he introduces himself as Bobby Peterson of the local Peterson Mansion. He invites Janey to his home, but when a visitor arrives bearing gifts, he's strangely surprised to find Bobby alive. 

Five - Superduperhuperman (screening date 12 March 1978) 
When Vincent the Villain and his gang rob the National Bank and kidnap Mary Mute, a seemingly ordinary human must jump into action. Transforming into Superduperhuper man, he teams up with the detective. Using his superpowers, they must track the crooks to their secret hideout to rescue Mary and the stolen loot.

Six - The Mould (excerpt - screening date 23 March 1978) 
Two suburban housewives stroll through their neighbourhood when they spot a familiar stubborn bathroom mould growing on the sidewalk. The pair gossip about another neighbour with the very same mould troubles, who has mysteriously disappeared, unaware that the mould has quietly hitched a ride.

Seven - The Last Survivors (screening date 2 April 1978) 
On the first morning of a tramping trip, two teen boys find a newspaper headline that warns of an epidemic spreading throughout New Zealand. When they reach the nearby town of Springsdale, a man fleeing the town has horrifying news. 

Eight - Herbie The Tramp (screening date 9 April 1978) 
Herbie (Derek Ward from movie Angel Mine) stumbles upon a 'help wanted sign' at a farmhouse gate and eagerly takes the job. But when he tries his hand at simple farm work, from milking cows to watering vegetables, his well-meaning efforts go humorously wrong. As the farmer and his wife watch on, it becomes clear that Herbie's new career may not go quite as planned.

Nine - Whose Mother Mine? (excerpt, screening date 9 April 1978) 
In this short excerpt, teenager Laura rushes from her house on to the street in tears. Her mother (Ilona Rodgers) meets her outside and comforts her.
