Grant Bridger did some of almost everything: he began as a radio DJ, released a handful of singles, and acted (and sang) on television, and at Auckland's Mercury Theatre. On screen, two of his biggest roles happened early. In 1976 he was a "nasty" factory worker in A Going Concern, New Zealand's second soap opera (after Close to Home). Two years later he played smooth-talking DJ Win Savage on TV's Radio Waves. Raised in Auckland and Hastings, Bridger also appeared in Sing, Gloss and in stage musicals. In 2019 he realised a long-held dream of creating one of his own, with the premiere of Petty Crime. Grant Bridger died on 7 March 2023.
...you can have as much natural talent in the world, and if it's not focussed and grown and nurtured, and given a direction, then you just have got a lot of potential talent... Grant Bridger on being invited to act at Auckland's Mercury Theatre, in a Radio New Zealand interview with Jim Mora, 14 November 2011
