Game of Two Halves - Series 1, Episode 6

Television (Full Length Episode) – 1999

...I've got to disagree with all of you here. Like we can't all be 'body beautiful' and perfect, and he's out there in the park doing his best, keeping himself fit and trying not to look like too much of a goose.

– Team leader Matthew Ridge improvises some sports commentary

Little bit of a stagger...I think she saw the police in the audience.

– Mike King improvises some commentary on a Tonya Harding ice skating routine

Something speedy, something hoony, something noisey, something entertaining...

– A vox pop interview provides a clue to a mystery Australian motor racing driver

Wouldn't have a clue. I don't even know the bugger.

– Panel member Wayne Shelford doesn't muck around with his answer

Rhymes with "Bant-tony"?

– Broadcaster Phil Gifford provides a clue in the quick-fire round

...if we don't get the maximum for that, I'm packing up and leaving.

– Team Leader Marc Ellis in drama queen mode, early in the show

We wanted to create a programme that would unite Matthew Ridge and Marc Ellis again and allow them to continue the good-humoured competitive rivalry they've built up. And, since a lot of sport on television is losing its female audience, we also wanted it to appeal to men and women. It's meant to be an entertainment show about sport, not a sports show that's entertaining.

– Producer Julie Christie on the motivation behind the show, The NZ Herald, 30 June 2000
