I Survived a Zombie Holocaust

Film (Trailer and Excerpts) – 2014

The first film by Guy Pigden and Harley Neville featured zombies. Fifteen years later their debut feature was born. As shown in this opening clip, Neville stars as a naive film school graduate who starts work on a zombie movie, just before genuine zombies invade the set. The horror comedy was shot in and around Dunedin as part of short-lived low budget scheme Escalator. Pigden was nominated for Best Feature Screenplay and Emerging Writer at the 2015 NZ Writers Guild Awards. The film was given a multi-platform release after good reactions overseas: viewers requested a local cinema screening via website Tugg.

...a perfect mix of horror and comedy ... takes all that is good about New Zealand comedy-horror and ups the ante.
– Phil Wheat, in a five star review on UK website Nerdly, 23 August 2014
