Aucklander Mike Edward began acting in high school musicals, and at 21 made his first appearances on Shortland Street. His character Zac returned to the series in 2012, and became one of the show's "most manipulative creeps” to date (said the NZ Herald). The Unitec acting graduate has also had recurring roles on Nothing Trivial and The Strip, and is co-founder of physical/circus ensemble Dust Palace.
