Lucy Lewis Can't Lose - Series One

Episode One
Lucy Lewis (Thomasin McKenzie) is a disastrous public speaker, and she'll do anything not to win the School Representative election — anything to avoid giving the speech that comes with it. But when her teacher announces she's won, Lucy is convinced the win was based on sympathy for her disability rather than merit. Lucy tries to back out of the role… but her determined teacher has other plans.

Episode Two
While serving an early morning detention with her friend Ruby (Celia Macdonald), after being caught stealing food, Lucy learns about the struggles some students are facing. The situation sparks an idea in Lucy for a free breakfast programme at the school. But when she goes to the principal's office to float the idea in her role as school rep, she overhears an alarming plan the principal is preparing to set in motion.

Episode Three
Convinced the principal (Miranda Harcourt) is scheming to push out low-income students, Lucy teams up with Ruby and enlists the help of fellow student Dave (Rāhiri Wharerau) to steal the principal's secret plan. Their heist gets underway, but just as they're closing in on the files, another student, Stella (Catherine Pot) arrives to argue that she should be School Representative, threatening to blow the whole operation.

Episode Four
Hiding under the principal’s desk, Lucy finally learns the truth: a proposal to raise "voluntary" school fees to weed out lower-income families. With time running out, Dave shows Lucy and Rudy a viral school fight video, giving them an idea to create their own viral video to expose the principal's plot. But when their plan goes awry, Lucy seizes the opportunity to speak up on record about the principal's plan.

Episode Five
Just as Lucy decides she will give the School Representative speech (and publicly expose the plan to raise school fees!), the principal announces that Stella will be delivering the speech instead. Determined not to be silenced, Lucy turns to the library computers to learn public speaking skills and find her courage to make it on to the stage before it's too late.

Episode Six
With the big cafeteria-opening ceremony underway, Lucy finds herself trapped in the library with no way out. She calls Ruby for help, and the two must race to get Lucy to the event on time. As Lucy prepares to face her fear of public speaking once and for all, she encounters one last unexpected obstacle — and she must convince Stella to lend a hand if she's going to get her message across.
