I think the library is a very welcoming place. It's almost like a second home for many people; not just older people that are perhaps lonely and they want to go there and read, and feel the company of others; but also homeless people that feel really cold and uncomfortable, are still welcome and read. You'd be surprised — many of them read very intellectual stuff.

I try and think about it like I'm representing three people — you have to work for the reader ... and the author and the publisher. And in the end you hope that by working on behalf of all those interests you make the best possible product.
