Episode One
Presenter Emily Perkins hosts a panel of young book reviewers: Sophie Parke, Murdoch Keane and Connie Gregory, who discuss The Half Men Of O by Maurice Gee. Next, comedian and television presenter and future comedian Rose Matafeo drops by the studio to tell Emily about award-winning graphic novel Maus. Finally, young roving reporter Frank Talbot goes out into the field to explore the Auckland Public Library.

Episode Two
Emily Perkins hosts her usual panel of young booklovers, and they share their thoughts on The Runaway Settlers by Elsie Locke. Secondly, playwright Tom Sainsbury introduces Emily to Z For Zachariah by Robert C O'Brien, a post-apocalyptic thriller. For his field report, poetry-skeptic Frank Talbot meets with poet Kevin Ireland, who sways Frank's opinion on the medium. The unlikely pair also see Ireland's work be transformed into street art with chalk!

Episode Three
Young book reviewers Sophie Parke, Murdoch Keane and Connie Gregory talk The Changeover by Margaret Mahy, with help from presenter Emily Perkins. Then kids TV icon Erin Simpson joins the studio to rave about self-help book What Would Audrey Do by Pamela Keogh. Finally, reporter Frank Talbot meets author Anne Salmond to learn about writing historic fiction. She discusses her process of writing about Captain Cook, and the pair visit Devonport Naval Base to help give Cook's story context. 

Episode Four
Presenter Emily Perkins kicks off the episode with her usual book club with young literature lovers Sophie, Murdoch and Connie; they review See Ya Simon by David Hill. Midnight Youth frontman Jeremy Redmore then tells Emily about his favourite book, historical novel The Pillars Of The Earth by Ken Follett. Reporter Frank Talbot then goes out in the field to Gotham Comics bookstore, run by Jeremy Bishop. The two chat comic books and are also joined by local comic book creator Michael Mulipola.
