Spring 1998
Mixed into the runway show of the latest Spring fashions, are a number of special features. First is a profile of designer Barbara Lee, focusing on her work redesigning the uniforms for prestigious girls' school St. Margaret's College. Comedian Irene Pink learns about the art of plus-size fashion, meeting designers Gaye Bartlett, Monique Harrison, and Janine Nuku. New Zealand makes a moody impression at Fashion Week in Australia, and field reporter Craig Parker deep-dives into the fashion brand World. Finally, Sonia Gray learns the art of accessorising from stylist Paula Ryan. The episode is intercut with hair tutorials from Wella's David Shields and introductions from host Rebecca Gibney.
Summer 1998
Sonia Gray meets Dunedin designer Tanya Carlson, who is focused on creating dance costumes and womenswear for summer. Next, skate culture’s influence on streetwear is explored through the Cheapskates brand, with thoughts on womenswear from Cherie Patton of Zeal. Craig Parker profiles retail success story Hart Manufacturing, interviewing Walter Hart and Suzie Walker. Sonia Gray offers packing tips for warm holidays, receiving styling tips from Kellie Harwood of Bisou Bisou and Moontide. Finally, Richard O'Brien of The Rocky Horror Picture Show fame discusses The Moa Fashion Show; a London charity runway show for UNICEF. As usual, this is intercut with a multi-designer runway show featuring the latest fashions of the season.
Autumn 1999
The autumn episode features the Wella runway show with seasonal trends and make-up tutorials from Vanya Sutich. Craig Parker and Sonia Gray present a series of special features, beginning with a visit to Wellington Polytechnic’s School of Fashion, where Gray meets the next leaders in the industry and talks to the Design Head Sue McLaren. Brand profiles include Tony Milch's Sabatini with a focus on knitwear from Jo Chambers, and womenswear by mother–daughter duo Gaye and Deanne Bartlett. Gray explores the history and future of lingerie with Angela Lassig at Auckland Museum, joined by makers Donna Davidson and Catriona Stewart.
Winter 1999
An exclusive group of New Zealand designers are sent to London Fashion Week, with the support of Wools of New Zealand. Interviews include Denise L'Estrange-Corbet and Francis Hooper (World), Liz and Neville Findlay (Zambesi) and Leigh Harris (Wools of New Zealand). Back in New Zealand, Craig Parker presents a profile on the brand Robin Jones with designers Claire Jones and Fiona Fong. Sonia Gray presents a feature on bridal wear, speaking to designers, florists and make-up artists, including prolific wedding dress designer Kevin Berkahn. Parker also presents a wide-ranging segment on menswear, featuring Bob Nelson of Satori. Womenswear designer Liz Mitchell is profiled, with her work showcased throughout the Wella runway.
